Science and Engineering from North
Carolina State University in 1994. Joined SSCC in 1994 as Process
Engineer
in the Pulp Mill and Recovery Departments. In 1997, accepted
a Paper
Machine Supervisor position. In 1998, moved to the Pulp Mill
as the Recycle
(OCC) Superintendent and in 2000, was promoted to my current
position as
Woodyard / Pulp Mill Process Mgr.
ABSTRACT
This presentation describes efforts to implement reliability
processes within operating departments
at Smurfit-Stone's Fernandina Beach Mill. The presentation
explains the role operations plays in equipment reliability
and provides case studies that show the rewards and benefits
of operation's
involvement in reliability. This facility also has deployed
handheld data collection systems and bar code technology
to facilitate
data collection and analysis.
